How to solve the surge of slurry pump

How to solve the surge of slurry pump

We have already talked about how surge occurs in slurry pumps. Now we will introduce how to solve the problem if surge occurs in slurry pumps. As long as we find out the cause of the surge, we can solve it accordingly. Let’s take a look together.

  1. Discharge the air in the pump chamber of the slurry pump.
  2. Solve the problem of small inlet flow of the slurry pump.
  3. Check whether the impeller of the slurry pump and the pump casing are damaged.
  4. Check whether there are any movable foreign objects at the inlet and outlet of the slag ice pump.
  5. Check whether there is leakage in the outlet pipeline of the slurry pump.
  6. When starting the slurry pump, ensure that the liquid level at the inlet of the slurry pump is higher than the inlet.
  7. It is recommended that when choosing a slurry pump, do not work in an unstable small flow area.
  8. The flow regulating valve of the slurry pump should be installed between the slurry pump and the air tank, and cannot be installed behind them. In other words, the static lift of the slurry pump cannot exceed the shut-off lift of the pump.

When surge occurs in the slurry pump, you might as well try the suggestions above.
